Welcome to the website of the Dogwood Rottweiler Club of Metropolitan
Atlanta Georgia!
Dogwood Rottweiler Club was organized in 1976. Our current constitution
and by-laws were seated in 1993. Dogwood Rottweiler Club held its first
major when it hosted the 4th Annual American Rottweiler Club National
Specialty in May of 1984 at Stone Mountain Park, Georgia. An overwhelming
success!
Our breed has departed physically from its Roman ancestors, but has retained
all the strength and characteristics for which it was so admired in Roman
times, and has been preserved in the breed we hold in high regard to this
day. It is the firm belief of this club that this breed is NOT for everyone!
Please contact any member for help and guidance when considering ownership.
Our club consists of members who are judges, breeders, exhibitors, owners
and fanciers, who with their dogs promote and participate in conformation,
obedience, herding, agility, carting, rescue, tracking, CGC, therapy visits
and schutzhund.
Dogwood Rottweiler Club sponsors rottweiler fun days, matches, conformation
and obedience shows, as well as ARC National and Regional Specialties.
DRCMA also has herding trials, tracking trials and temperament tests.
We host seminars and health clinics such as CERF, OFA, Cardiac and micro-chipping.
Dogwood Rottweiler Club has received numerous certificates of recognition
from the American Rottweiler Club for our outstanding contribution in
promoting better understanding, awareness, and responsibility through
education.
We welcome and encourage you to come join our group at our monthly
meetings held in Alpharetta, GA to further your interest and knowledge
of our noble breed.
